【Dr. Zheng Lei's opinion on accepting CBN's interview with Internet companies such as Alibaba, Honeycomb and other Internet companies being punished for violating the anti-monopoly law】

The "Anti-Monopoly Law" is a relatively new law in China and was rarely used before. After a series of recent hot events on the Internet and financial technology companies and the "Anti-Monopoly Guidelines" were issued, today's punishment is of iconic significance, indicating that anti-monopoly will become an important legal weapon to escort the "double cycle" national policy. Although the amount of punishment is not high, combined with the statement made by the Meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee last week, the impact is far-reaching. Antitrust will become a focus of economic work in 2021.

The requirements of the Central Government are very clear, including e-commerce, food delivery, video, live broadcast, travel, and other Internet giants should better choose the track. After the brutal growth of the first 20 years, these companies should participate more in the high-quality growth of the national economy in the future. Many of these companies already have strong strength and market position, and have the ability to invest in the relevant industrial fields of national technological innovation, instead of focusing too much on the consumer and financial fields to compete for the traffic of "a few bundles of cabbage and a few kilograms of fruit". These companies should have a higher vision and actively participate in the stars of technological innovation.

Leading companies that have already occupied a dominant position in the Internet should choose new real economic fields that are more in line with the 14th Five-Year Plan and the 2035 long-term plan, such as industrial Internet, new generation information technology, and new infrastructure. At the same time, it is necessary to meet the requirements of the "Anti-Monopoly Guidelines" as soon as possible, speed up rectification, reverse and modify some monopolistic business methods, recognize that anti-monopoly will be a long-term trend, and actively make adjustments in corporate development strategies.
